SECRET ALIEN AND UFO PROGRAM FILES DISAPPEAR HOURS AFTER TRUMP ORDER; “DELETION, NOT CORRUPTION”
By Fernanda Pires
Millions of files related to UFOs and secret government programs disappeared from a digital archive just hours after former U.S. President Donald Trump reportedly ordered the release of documents connected to extraterrestrial life and unidentified aerial phenomena.
The affected database was The Black Vault, one of the world’s largest public repositories of declassified government documents. The site is operated by American researcher John Greenewald Jr., who has spent decades obtaining official records through the United States Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).
The platform hosts records from multiple government agencies, including the CIA, the Department of Defense, and other military and intelligence bodies. Among the materials are technical reports, internal memoranda, official investigations, and communications concerning unidentified flying objects, anomalous aerial phenomena, and claims of technologies of non-human origin.
What is The Black Vault?
The Black Vault compiles government material obtained over decades through FOIA requests. Its archive includes documents related to previously undisclosed programs and incidents involving alleged extraterrestrial encounters, including reports and rumors suggesting that extraterrestrial spacecraft may have been recovered and studied by the U.S. government.
Greenewald assembled this vast collection through more than 11,000 FOIA requests submitted over nearly 30 years. The public can examine military base reports, technical documents, and testimonies involving alleged contact with non-human entities. The archive also includes CIA guidelines from the 1940s and 1950s.
Much of this information has been declassified over the years with limited public attention. The researcher has also documented instances in which the CIA and FBI denied his formal requests for access.
Provider states files were deleted, not corrupted
Although Greenewald stated in an online post that he does not suspect malicious activity, a notable detail was provided by the site’s hosting provider, which indicated the incident was not caused by data corruption.
According to the provider, the files were deleted rather than damaged by a technical failure.
The episode occurred just hours after Trump stated he had instructed the Pentagon and other government agencies to release any material related to:
- alien and extraterrestrial life
- unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP)
- unidentified flying objects (UFOs)
Greenewald wrote: “They had no idea what happened and, from their side, they said it was deletion, not corruption.”
According to him, several server directories had permissions modified and ownership records altered without clear explanation, resulting in the temporary disappearance of a large volume of publicly accessible files.
The timing coincidence sparked speculation among researchers and across social media, raising questions about possible external interference or deliberate removal of information.
Despite suspicions raised by some observers, Greenewald stated there is no evidence confirming malicious action or direct government interference.
He explained the issue may have been caused by a poorly executed technical procedure during server maintenance, only discovered after the data loss.
It was also not possible to determine precisely what occurred or identify specific responsibility for the event.
The researcher later restored the site using archived backups, recovering access to the materials. He asked users to report any issues accessing specific documents to ensure the system is fully functional.
Greenewald emphasized that the incident serves as an important reminder of the need to maintain backups and preserve digital historical records, especially those considered of public and scientific relevance.
Donald Trump has previously suggested he possessed deeper knowledge about UFOs and possible extraterrestrial contact, though without releasing concrete details.
The incident has reignited debates surrounding government transparency, public access to sensitive information, and the growing global interest in unidentified aerial phenomena.
