Diønísio: UFO band that Blends Rock, Ufology, and Mythology

Diønísio is an original band renowned for its unique approach to themes like ufology, mythology, and paranormal phenomena in their music. Composed of Marcel Totti (drums and founder), Boris Wolf (bass and vocals), and Pedro Coli (guitar), the trio band has been gaining a devoted fanbase by merging rock with supernatural mysteries, creating an immersive atmosphere both in their live performances and recordings.

Rock and Mysticism

One of the band’s significant differentiators is how they connect mythology and ufology in their music’s compositions. For the band trio, ancient myths and legends might be primitive explanations for extraterrestrial phenomena, and this innovative perspective is reflected in their lyrics and sound. Diønísio’s musical approach goes beyond traditional rock, aiming to offer an experience that blends art, science, and mysticism.

International Recognition

The band gained international visibility by contributing to the soundtrack of the American documentary Moment of Contact, directed by James Fox, coproduced by Fernanda Pires, which covers the famous UFO case of Varginha city in Brazil. The track “1996,” used as the opening theme, pays tribute to the UFO event in the band’s city, bringing Varginha and its mysterious story into the global spotlight.

New Projects

Currently, Diønísio is working on a new album inspired by the “Operação Prato”, a significant Brazilian UFO Incident. The band is also preparing to release two new works simultaneously: a Portuguese album titled “Eu Vi um Ovni – in english: I saw a UFO” featuring Mateus Brito (Sir Britão) on vocals, and an English album titled I WANT TO BELIEVE, set to release in 2025. The latter promises to be the band’s boldest project yet, addressing themes such as the Roswell Incident, São Thomé das Letras, and the connection between Egyptian mythology and extraterrestrial beings.

Discography and Evolution

The band released the EP The Varginha Incident, featuring tracks like “1996” and “Abduction,” which explore alien abduction phenomena and their psychological effects. Following that, they recorded the EP God of Wine at the legendary Studio Forest Lab with Lisciel Franco, the only fully analog studio in Latin America. This work delves into both mythology, with songs like “Dionísio, Valknut,” and ufology, as in the track “R.E.M.,” which discusses the link between sleep paralysis and extraterrestrial contact.

The Future of Diønísio

With these new releases, Diønísio continues to evolve, pushing the boundaries of rock and supernatural themes. The band is expanding its fanbase among heavy music enthusiasts and those intrigued by the unknown. For them, the sky (and beyond) is the limit.
